Hi Sy,
I loved your new CD with the relaxation exercises, humor, music
and wonderful sounds of nature of the ocean, rain, birds singing
among others.

Dear Sy, I have no way of knowing how many people I have sent your way, but I can tell you that I very quickly went from being terrified to drive to being somewhat trepidacious in certain specific situations, and then to being calmer and more self-assured, and then to never having to worry about being behind the wheel, even during really bad weather, on the highway, over bridges: anywhere, at any time. I'm also welcomed to borrow friend's cars at any time and, in many cases, actually prefer me to drive them around rather than drive themselves, especially at night or in inclement weather.
You may use my name and contact information in any manner you so wish. I am not exaggerating when I say that you helped to save my life.

Hello Sy, I was just thinking of you because we were in Kauai last August. I hadn't flown in years so I used your tapes to get through the plane flight. My six year old son listened through one headphone and I through the other and we repeated the affirmations together. He thinks it's funny but tries to be supportive. The bridge crossings are becoming more frequent and are definitely better. I have found that I usually turn off the tape when I've calmed down which is about halfway across. Sometimes I switch to a CD that I made with music I like to sing along to. Trying to make the trip a positive experience!

Hi Sy,
I have put the affirmations onto cards, started doing the breathing techniques etc. I think the cards are fab. It goes with me in my car when I am a passenger!
I have done a lot more driving, extending my safety zones etc. Obviously some days are better than others, but the breathing techniques help a great deal and saying the affirmations out loud. I do get some funny looks sometimes from other drivers who are sitting in traffic with their windows down!!! I have passed on your details to my CB Therapist. My Therapist has helped me a lot, but to have your CDs to listen to in the car whilst driving is an absolute must. It is very calming! If anyone has a fear of driving this Survival Kit is the one. I can highly recommend it.
Thank you so much.

Hi Sy,
Things are going very well for me. In the last 6 weeks, I think I have been on the freeway more than I have been in my entire life. I can definitely tell that part of my fear is no longer there. I also can see that part of it is still there, but I'm also learning how to manage that better. I'm saying my rituals in the car and I have also been exercising a lot, which I know has helped me out a great deal. I'll always keep on trying. I know I'll never go backwards again. I can also tell that I'm feeling more confident about myself.
Thanks for all your help and support with the telephone sessions and Survival Kit.

Dear Sy,
I just wanted to let you know how much you changed my life. I had grown up in an urban environment and had never really been exposed to driving, much less felt comfortable doing it. However, I had move to the suburbs and found myself trapped and totally afraid to drive.
Slowly but surely, I listened to the Cd's and did the affirmations. I started just driving down my street and around the corner. I thought it would take forever
for me to actually get anywhere useful but I stuck with it. One day, I got to the store. I was still nervous in the store, thinking about having to get back in the car to get home again. Then one day, I got on the freeway. I listened to your CD whole time. I never thought there would be a time when I wouldn't grip the steering wheel with sweaty palms.
Well, over the course of a year, it happened. I gradually stopped needing the CD and even found myself enjoying driving! I was just telling my husband the other day, I would never have believed that I would say that I enjoy driving! So, thank you from the bottom of my heart, you have truly changed my life.
Best, Leila. Palm Springs , CA
Hi Sy
I was at a wedding in Wisconsin this weekend, about 175 miles from me. My boyfriend drove on the way there, but I drove the entire way home! There were many merges and I did ok! It really helped to have him in the car with me. I never dreamed that I could do that, but I did it! My fear is still there but it is starting to lessen. The greatest thing I'm learning is that it is so much better to be facing my fear than to be worrying about it. I still have a ways to go, but I'm on the right road. I'll continue to listen to your tapes and say the affirmations. I love how you say it's ok if I always don't do so great. The most important thing is that I'm doing the best that I can. And, your advice about taking advantage of the merge lanes has helped so much. It really has made me realize that merging isn't so bad.
Thanks for all the help you have given me in this short period of time. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Dear Sy,
After leaving a terrible marriage and being so paralyzed with fear that I could barely even speak for months. My phobias were so bad that I screamed myself awake for well over a year. I had a lot more fears to conquer than the fear of driving, but your programme was a wonderful starting place. I used to have your affirmations pasted onto my steering wheel. If I had to pull over and cry and calm myself down in order to stop shaking, your programme taught me that that was all right.
You know that phobics are very imaginative, and I can still hear your voice without the CDs or DVD any time I need reassurance. My children still believe that purchasing your programme was the best money I have ever spent in my life, and I concur. You provide a valuable service and I am very grateful for it. I don't know whether anyone I know has contacted you, but I tell everyone about you whenever the topic of driving arises.
Thank you again. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that you helped to save my life.
Have a fabulous day, and may the sun shine upon you forever.

Hi Sy:
I really want to thank you for providing me with these CDs and the Survival Kit. I had severe feelings of panic while highway driving for about 10 years, and although I would force myself to do it despite fear, it was extremely scary and difficult. Although the anxiety has not totally dissipated while highway driving, I have much less fear surrounding it, and always have the comfort of knowing I can hear your reassuring voice whenever I need to in the car. It is quite a comfort to have those CDs, and to be changing my thought patterns while driving. I am now starting to really understand that I can do this - and I don't have to face it alone.
Thank you!
Audra, Los Angeles adubster@hotmail.com
Guess What I successfully drove 8 hours Friday to Al and 8 hours home yesterday!!! I didn't get lost or too badly shaken. Thank you so much. I can honestly say that your advice has helped me. I did pray a lot. I am not a "white light" person but do believe in the power of God but have trouble putting it into practice.
Bless you,

Dear Sy,
I never thought I would be able to drive again. I had not driven a car since my divorce over 20 years a go. I was very impatient with being "desensitized" in the car and I thought I should just get in and be able to drive. Once that trust was there with you, I decided that if you did not give up on me I would not give up on you.
This month I have driven my granddaughter to school, myself to work, the grocery store (where I burst out crying the first few times with
gratitude that I could do it) and to church.
Wow what a feeling! If I can do it any one can. I will never take driving for granted again and I will always be grateful that I can drive alone once more.
Thank you again,
Cora, Sherman Oaks, CA email given upon request.
Hi Sy,
I just wanted to let you know that I have made improvements! Yes, I am able to drive, in the middle lane, on the freeway. I've been able to accomplish this on trips of about 20 miles! I'm so thrilled. My anxiety factor is much less and I am able to control when it seems to rise. Thank you for your guidance. I know I couldn't have done it without you and the tapes!
Thank you.Sincerely,
Robin M., Texas bartfart62-help@yahoo.com
Hi Sy,
Your Survival Kit and CDs helped me immensely in the car, after I first received them. After following your directions, soon I was perhaps white-knuckling it but I was driving, as you say, "where I wanted, when I wanted, and how I wanted".
Having your soothing voice in the background whilst I was conquering my fears was so helpful, and without even listening to the CDs I can still hear your voice in my mind whenever a relapse threatens, which is increasingly less often.
By the way, your technique helped me conquer a wide range of phobias. I can now ride escalators, go to high places and go outdoors anywhere! My children join me in saying that the money I spent for your programme was probably the best money I've ever spent.
I would be greatly honoured if you were to use my name or testimonial on your web site, or in any way you choose.
Thank you again: my own personal Driving Therapist! Best warm regards,
Susan, Toronto, Canada smwatthannah@yahoo.ca
Dear Sy,
I feel I am breaking out of a situation I have been in all these decades and I feel very good about it and about myself. It wasn't all easy, but by doing the relaxation, breathing and affirmations before and after driving and the CDs while driving and all the other things you recommended I kept making more and more progress. I also called and had three sessions with you on the phone which were very helpful. Thank you very much for your help and all the ideas and tips you have put together. It has been a very helpful, and I would say indispensable, program for me.
Joanne, Oregon joanneh@netcnct.net
Hi Sy,
I find your CD's useful in dealing with the stresses of everyday living other than just for driving. Your reassuring voice helps put into focus that you are the one in control of your thoughts and feelings and thus are able to deal with situations that may at first seem overwhelming. I particularly find the affirmations effective in building up the personal esteem that is needed in overcoming the stresses and fears that prevent you from moving forward in life. Using these techniques is like having one of your best friends available whenever you need them. Without reserve, I highly recommend
the tools that you've given me. Thank you.
G. T., Pomona, CA
Dear Sy:
I just wanted to let you know that your breathing techniques for driving in a more relaxed manner helped me in a completely different area. I was 3 hours in my dentists's chair and if I had not had the tools to do my breathing exercises and go to my "special" place I would have jumped out of that chair and would have had a panic attack at any moment. I did not have a panic attack and I was so much more comfortable when I had something else to think about.
Thank you for teaching me these techniques.
C.K. Sherman Oaks, CA
Hi Sy,
I sincerely thank you for providing me with the tools, with your Survival Kit and our telephone sessions, to help me get through this phase. I remind myself that this is a phase and that I'm learning from it. I'm applying affirmations not only to driving but everyday life. I feel this has made a huge difference.
I've ventured out for two warm-up sessions on the freeway. Both were positive and I only experienced discomfort to level 2. This is very real to me and my greatest desire is to drive again without all the anxiety I've brought to it. I listen to the CD's everyday and perform the ritual before and after driving. Thanks again and I'll continue let you know how I'm doing.
Sincerely,
Robin, TX bartfart62-help@yahoo.com
Dear Sy,
I have received my Survival Kit and have started to put it into practice! I am so thankfull for this I could cry. I have driven on my own for the first time in 10 years, just once - still a long way to go!!! This has been a big break through for me. I have always known how important it is to breath properly if you suffer from anxiety and I have listened to many tapes, but it never quite "clicked" into place until I heard you talk about it on your tape!!! It has had a real impact on me and I am really putting this into practice every day. Thank you so much!

You're telephone sessions have helped me alot. Please introduce me to the support group.

Hello again, Sy.
Thank you for the telephonic therapy sessions and your Survival Kit. I learned a lot about myself and my problems and that I must take one step at a time. I would very much like to join your driver support group. I look forward to communicating with other people who share my phobias, fears, and feelings. I will keep in touch with you regarding my progress. Take Care.

Hi, Sy,
I loved the idea of a survival kit, and made one with a plastic quirt bottle of lavender water for when I experienced physical problems... and a stuffed animal, a gorilla with a very understanding look whom I called, "God the Gorilla." Having conversations with God while driving really helped, as I complained to him, expressed my feelings, chided with him, made deals, even used profanity! Great therapy!
I started to feel well enough to trade my old car in for a new one, and that did it. I worried a bit about backsliding, but it's been a month, and so far so good. Keep helping people.
JM, Hawaii
Until I began my sessions with Sy I would not even touch my car from previous accidents that I was in. He was extremely patient and understanding. It took a few sessions for me to actually start driving and once I did he had me repeat "It's not as bad as I thought" and he was right. These affirmations help you in every aspect of your life. The more he helped me realize it was okay the more I felt okay. Sy is extremely selfless to help people in this position. Driving phobia is a very hard thing to understand and very emotional experience to go through but he never gets frustrated with you he just keeps encouraging you until you get through each obstacle. Then after a while I drove to the grocery store and to a new job at work, it felt amazing.
Sy he is wonderful and I cannot thank him enough for my independent life back. So thank you Sy for your kindness and your gifts. I cannot thank you enough.

Dear Sy,
I just want to tell you how grateful I am for your help in my freeway driving. I do drive in the carpool lanes frequently and am almost to where I freely drive with no anxiety. I just wanted to tell you again how so very thankful I am of the service you provided me.

Hi Sy,
I have been struggling with panic disorder for 12 years and have seen my world get smaller and smaller over that time. I would wake up with a pit in my stomach worry about how it was going to make it to work each day. After our telephone sessions and listening to the CDs and Survival Kit you have sent me I have expanded my comfort zones traveling to work and feel more relaxed then I have in over 12 years! You have provided me with the tools and resources that make my road trips relaxing....I can't believe I am the same person. I TRULY believe that nothing will happen to me while driving. I know I'm not going to die, or loose control of the car and crash which was a big step for me. Just the other day I came out of work and realized WOW I feel more relaxed in my car then even at work!. ... Thanks Sy

Hi Sy:
It's been a while since we last spoke and you saw me in the car. I just wanted to let you know that I have indeed resumed freeway driving. I woke up one day & told myself I can do this! First trip was out to Simi Valley with a friend as encourager and since then several more, including out to Camarillo to visit my sister. Thanks for the help you provided,

Dear Sy:
Thanks again for calling the other day. I have been listening to the CDs daily. I find them to be inspirational and relaxing. As a matter of fact, the other night I had my first driving-related positive dream. In the past I have drempt about being on the passenger side of the car, and my husband is no longer driving. In the dreams, I am trying to get control of the car, but I can't really get to the steering wheel or the brake/gas pedals, to do so. I dream the car is not manageable. But---the other night, I drempt that everyone at work had to take a written driving test. I had just taken the test, and was saying, "it's easy!", and felt positive about it. This was new...

Dear Sy,
I just watched the Video/DVD alone and IM excited to have seen all of the other people who are just like me or worse. I really have a feeling now that I am going to get thru this, I no longer feel like IM the oldest non-driver in the U.S. I can't wait to have my husband sit and watch these with me again to get the stress off of him as well as myself.
Thanks so much for the help, I am so glad I just happened to run across your site. I will keep you posted on my progress and look forward to doing so.

Hi Sy,
Since receiving and viewing your Survival Kit, I've been listening to your CD's in my car for the last three days, and I'm glad to say that your methods are working for me. I did get nervous several times while driving on the freeway, but I felt more relaxed while driving than I have in months, I know that an entire drive with no anxiety may take awhile. Also, my friend says that I am a much better relaxed passenger in her car. Your Survival Kit is making me feel like I will be able to drive normally again.
Thank you. M. S. Fremont, CA
Things are going very well for me. In the last 6 weeks, I think I have been on the freeway more than I have been in my entire life. I can definitely tell that part of my fear is no longer there. Hello Sy,
I must tell you how much just listening to your program a few times has really helped. I am so happy to report that I not only drove to Pa. (1 hr. 15 min. away) alone AND took my ski lessons as I wanted, I've also recently driven my elderly parents to a Dr. in Phila. Pa. My father actually said to me "You're a very good driver". I smiled because he has no idea of the stresses I would have been going through before getting your program. I can honestly say, that I now look foreward to driving to new places just to challenge my new skills. Thanks so much for your wonderful work.
Sincerely, T.S. NJ
Just a note of thanks, your website knocked me out - simply being aware that I wasnt alone is something to get use to! I honestly think Im 'beyond help' (well past the age 'normal'people run for their licenses) but, again, its reassuring to know I'm not completely 'off the wall' with my fears. I cant seem to get behind the wheel. (pastlife experiences with car accidents!) It's this tremendous anxiety that I'll cause an accident. Anonymous (by request)
Dear Mr. Cohn:
I purchased your Survival Kit over a year ago and finally about three months ago started listening to the tapes and actually wore out the affirmation tape. I had to go to the Phil. Intl. Airport and I kept breathing and repeating my favorite affirmations and got through it with only a slight anxious moment when I saw a huge bridge which we were not even going to be crossing. It finally struck me that the normal life-saving stress of being on the highways had been intensified in my mind by the fear of losing control which I know will not happen since I am in control of the car etc. Thank you very much for your program. I was honestly skeptical at first and am now a believer. It is given me a new sense of power and confidence in my life as well and has rid me of the shame I felt at being highway challenged. Next adventure the bridge!
Sincerely, Debbie Aument DArt1955@aol.com
Dear Sy,
Your CD was a godsend! Last summer I could not drive by myself except for a very few places one-two miles from my home. I was able to expand my comfort zone while listening to your CD. I now hardly ever feel anxious while driving. I still play the CD every morning while driving to work. I know it will help me to stay calm while driving and the positive affirmations center me and help me have a positive start to my day.
Thank you so much, Barbara Matter
Hi, Sy:
I really appreciate your program it has helped me so much, I only wish I would have found it a long time ago! If you have any more cd's other than the one that I have for the car, I would be interested in purchasing it from you.
Thanks again. Donna, Brooklyn, NY DDoubleDee88@aol.com
Hi Sy,
The contents of the DVD and video tape are excellent. I really liked your tips on changing lanes and judging distances. It makes so much sense that you covered those topics. In driver's ed, not only did they not take us on the highway, they never discussed anything like changing lanes, merging
into traffic, etc...so I thank you for that. Marisa
Dear Sy,
My driving has improved 500% - it is truly remarkable. I actually enjoy it now and look for reasons to go driving. My favorite "mantra" is "I go where I want, when I want, and how I want." Prior to your tapes and telephone counseling, I was paralyzed by the fear of it--I wouldn't go to stores I needed to go to, I would do my errands at 7am on weekends to avoid traffic, and I seriously considered taking a job (and a 50% pay cut) closer to home to avoid driving. You gave me back my driving freedom, and I cannot thank you enough!
M.S. New Jersey MStapleton1215@comcast.net
Thank you Sy, For helping me sooo much. I'll never forget your compassion and skills in knowing exactly how to handle the challenges of driving anxiety.
Sincerely, and with much gratitude-- K.N. Sacramento CA Elskekaren@aol.com
Dear Sy,
Sorry I have not gotten back to you in a while. I hope all is going well. The driving is getting a lot better. I am completely surprised with what I have been doing. I drove about 7hrs on a car trip to Arkansas, and 7 hrs back. I have even been making occasional jaunts on the freeway. I have found myself a whole lot less nervous about driving and in general. Thanks for your help. When I first got in touch with you I was desperate, and thought there is no way I could do this. The Survival Kit with the tapes has made me feel a lot calmer whenever I get in and out of the car.
A.K., Louisiana
Dear Sy,
Thank you for staying in touch. I am driving more and more all the time. I find that if I concentrate on my breathing, I am able to drive through my anxiety. My fears have decreased tremendously since I have been listening to your tapes and using your Survival Kit. I drove on the interstate the intire way and although I did feel a little anxious at times, I kept going and the feeling quickly passed!!! I am gaining more confidence all the time, Thanks again for all your help, I will stay in touch and hope to hear from you again when possible.
Sincerely, M.M. MT TimiJo@aol.com
Sy stayed in touch with me, and we eventually had several telephonic therapy sessions. Not long after that, while heading to work, my car "decided" to get on the freeway, so I went along for the ride. I am happy to say I am zipping on and off freeways, passing, changing lanes, etc. Sy gave me the courage, the tools, and the self-confidence to start living again. Now, as Sy's CD says, "I can go where I want, when I want, whenever I want." Sy changed my life. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information.
Susan, Hawaii Melansonls@aol.com
Hi Sy, In regards to my driving I couldnt be happier. Its such freedom to be able to drive however or where ever I want. I didnt want another relapse so I researched panic attacks and found that a combination of behavioral therapy and taking a prescribed drug for a year seemed to help eliminate a complete relapse. There was one slight attack, but with your techniques I have been able to calm my self down, continue driving and there have been no recurrences.
T.K., So. Calif.
Dear Sy,
I received my tapes and have been listening to one side each way to work. So far so good. A little better every day, a little less negativ anticipation, less anger, etc Your voice sounds like you are right there and has a very believable ring to it.
Thanks for designing these materials.

Dear Sy,
I was too filled with dread to even drive to the supermarket, let alone to get on a freeway! When we moved to Los Angeles 9 months ago, I realized for the first time that I had an intense driving anxiety. Luckily, I came across Sy's website one day, and immediately wrote him a letter. He responded immediately, and came to my house the very next day! After just 5 sessions, I was able to drive across the city to my toddler's future preschool on the freeway! What an enormous relief and a delightful surprise! Sy is a thoughtful and capable coach, and he shows you how the prison one is in is of one's own making, and that one possesses the key to the lock on the bars, and has had it, all along. It is a huge catharsis. All the recommendations you see on this website are true, I can bear witness. If you can arrange for him to make a house call, do so, but even if you can not, at the very least, order his Survival Kit. It is a truly worthwhile investment.
S.B., Glendale, CA
Hi Sy,
I have used the Survival Kit with tapes for about a month and a half. I'm not worrying so much about the mechanics of driving the car anymore, which lets me relax and enjoy driving more. I still stress a little when people I don't know are in the car with me or I'm driving somewhere I've never been before, but generally I'm feeling much better about my driving.
Thank you D., Australia
Dear Mr. Cohn,
Just want to let you know I began studying your driving kit. You really cover all the bases. I find it so interesting that you began as a driving instructor. You are indeed 'the specialist' if there ever was one! I just feel very lucky to have so easily found you on the good old internet.
One of the best things so far, about the Survival Kit, is your calm soothing voice.
Thanks for being there and understanding.
Karen Nielsen, Scaramento, CA
Hi Sy, I just wanted to let you know that I'm continuing to do very well. Sure, there have been a couple of times when I feel a little tense while driving, but the vast majority of the time I feel relaxed, energized, peaceful and content. I still listen to your tapes as they help me to center and relax.
Thank you again for all the help you gave me and in discovering new "avenues" for driving happiness. I hope all is well with you.
Take Care, M.D., Los Angeles, CA
Hello, Sy,
I watched the video tape the other day and was very impressed. I certainly identified with so much in it. I will most probably take the CD's with me everywhere I go in the car. I find that the breathing excersise really helps! Thank you again.
Sincerely, R.S., New York
Dear Sy,
As far as driving goes I am driving freeways. I just drove a long way today and will do so again on the weekend. Your work with me helped immensely. Deep breathing and a mind set on relaxation really helps a lot.I won't say I am completely anxiety-free over freeway driving but I'm doing it and not stressing over it nearly as much. I can't tell you what a relief it is.
J.C- Orange Co., CA
Dear Sy,
I want to say thank you for your help and your time while working with me. In the beginning when I met you I could hardly make it to our meeting point (2 miles from my house). Today I am very proud of myself because we drove 100 miles on the freeway and....this was not the first time.
My confidence about driving is building up every day. The positive wins from the negative.
I am happy to get in the car and leave the office for a couple of hours. The Survival Kit and the tapes with the affirmations are a great help to me.
Thank you again. L.W., W.L.A.
Dear Sy,
I just wanted you to know that after ordering your tapes and knowing I was not alone, I went from never driving at all, (I am 33) to driving 120 miles a day. (I live 60 miles away from work). I still get nervous at times, but I really feel like it is a miracle. My fear of driving was so strong that I never thought I would be able to drive ever! Thank you so much for all of your help and for making me realize I was not alone. I would like everyone to know that if I can do it-anybody can!
Sincerely, Kelly Shilo, Minnesota KShilo@slwk.com
Hi Sy,
I've been meaning to write this e-mail for a very long time. I can't thank you enough for all the help, support, and encouragement you've given me in our work together. I'm amazed at how far I've come in the past 4 monthsfrom being absolutely paralyzed with fear at the mere thought of driving around the block to driving alone on freeways to meet you! I never, ever thought I would get to that point, especially after not having driven for 8 years. I had convinced myself that I was just one of those people who shouldn't drive because I was too nervous about it. You helped me see that you don't get rid of the nervousness so you can driveyou drive to get rid of the nervousness! A simple concept, but one that had never occurred to me before. The breathing exercises and tapes have been very helpful in keeping me relaxed and "in the now." Even the affirmations, which I was skeptical about at first, seem to be working! Your belief in me and my driving abilities has allowed me to believe in myself. And that's a great gift. Thank you.
R.B., Los Angeles
Dear Sy:
You can use my comments and my name. It is no secret that I have had a problem driving on highways. The tapes are restoring my confidence to drive on the highway. Soon, my children and I will drive to the beach (5 hrs from Atlanta). That is how good I feel when I drive.
I wish I had thought to look in the internet for information about driving anxiety a long time ago. The thought only came to me in my hour of desperation-- about 3-4 months ago. I was really tired of driving on surface streets. Every place that I went I had to allow an additional 30 minutes. The excess driving was really tiring me out.
I look forward to getting in the car now as each highway is a challenge.
Thanks. Minette, Georgia mmellis@gsu.edu
Hi Sy,
I had a great weekend! I feel soooo much better in just the last 2 weeks we've worked together, my spirit feels so light! I am so glad to have found you and your help. I know that I am the lock and I am the key. It just takes someone who cares to help teach you to believe in yourself! All things take time and the shame is finally being lifted. I now realize it is no different than one suffering a tragic physical accident and having to go through physical therapy to help "relearn" what we've done on auto for years!
I also now know that this is not a curse but one of the greatest blessings I can recieve- many people go through their entire life wishing they could change - I get the chance early on so I can enjoy the rest of it! So I lost a year- I just now am gaining a lifetime! Through God, myself and an excellent teacher- I believe in all things- even me!

Dear Sy,
I got off to a slow start using my Kit, but for the last 3 or 4 weeks I've been listening to the CDs and doing the affirmations in my car, usually 3 or 4 times a week for 30 minutes. In the past when I've tried to cure my phobia, I tried to do it all at once, almost overnight.
So...this time I decided to take it one step at a time. Since I've taken years to get into this behavior pattern I'll have to work on gradually changing it. I'm being easier on myself and just trying to do a little more each time I drive, like passing other cars on the freeway instead of clinging to the right hand side. I'm not going to beat myself up for still being afraid of the bigger stuff. It may take a while to change, but it will come over time and I believe your program can really help me.

Hi Sy,
Driving to from work went well last week. I was a little uptight on Monday, but I realized that I was concerned about a project I'm working on. I drove through areas that use to stress me out without thinking about it. Before I knew it I had past the area. I feel
better about myself. Try to stay focus.

dear sy, i have developed a phobia of crossing high road bridges (when driving).probably caused initially by having a panic attack while driving across the severn suspension bridge.prior to that i never had any
problems.do you have any tapes etc that may help
cheers. d.c., UK
I logged onto AOL and just typed in "driving anxiety" I followed the step from there and it lead me to you. Your web site was very informational and what turned me on to it the most, was that for once, I could see that you truly understood this situation. That means a lot to me. Thank You again,
Susan, Roanoke, VA. jloveswife@aol.com
Hi Sy,
I'm really impressed by the natural style of your Survival Kit with tapes I have a tendency to be a cynic, and get easily turned off by stuff too touchy feely. Perhaps because of the "grounding" experience of teaching driving, you have developed a real-world style.

Hello Sy:
Wanted to make contact and let you know I received your materials, and to say hello and introduce myself. The most encouraging part of your video came right away when I discovered that others seem to have the same problem I'm now having, down to the smallest detail.

Dear Mr. Cohn,
I just wanted to say thank your very much help I received from your driving tapes. They played a big part in the improvemnt in my driving over the last four years. Before that, I was able to drive pretty well on the streets, but I could barely go on the highway. So I just want to tell you thanks. Youve given me the tools that have helped me get out and enjoy more of the world.

Just a note of thanks, your website knocked me out - simply being aware that I wasn't alone is something to get use to! Sometimes I cant even turn the engine on & continue sitting in the drivers seat.
Dear Mr.
Sincerely, Debbie Aument, Phil., PA DArt1955@aol.com
Dear Sy,
Before meeting with you last month, I had not driven freeways, over bridges or even in far left lanes on 3 lane boulevards for over 5 years. As soon as I began experiencing panic attacks in 1995, I gradually withdrew. It affected me in more ways than driving as my self confidence severely deteriorated.
I first met you last month. We have made what I consider considerable strides, and you now know how determined I am to get this temporary disability behind me. I have used your tapes faithfully and I am gradually improving in more ways than behind the wheel. I now find myself more tolerant of other things in my life. I know it all ties together and if I can be easier on myself and others in daily activities, It will carry over to my driving too.
You have been a great source of support to me. You take a personal interest in my well being and that means so much. Thank you for being there for me, Sy. I am now starting to be there for myself.

Hi Sy, I stumbled upon your website and hope to find help for my problem! My driving, travelling issue is distances from home or my "safe place." I have been through different "talk therapies" over the years, even a fearful flying class. that was fine and all but not something that you can expose yourself to often enough to really get much from it. Can you help me P
Dear P
Of course I've got ideas to help you with your driving to go further "from your safe place". You need to understand that you "safe place" is within you and goes where ever you go. I hope that you read over my website and know that there are hundreds of people of helped over the years who feel just the way you do.
You have yourself in a no win situation, as most people that I've helped by not going to any unfamiliar places becasue you don't know. You will never know them if you never go there.
You need alot more than "talk therapies" in a nice safe office. The therapy that I'm talking about will always be in the car with you for continuous support, motivation and confidence. That is what my proven Survival Kit will give you before, during and after you drive. It's like I'm always in the car with you.
Thank you for your inquiry. I look forward to help you, Sy
Hi Sy,
I'm from Singapore. I would like to ask about lane changing.Like i'm in the right lane and i wanted to change make a turning to left. Can you advise me on how to change the lane, like from changing gear and the procedure like look for my blind spot ETC.
Thanks
Thank you you for your inquiry, but can't tell you how to make a lane change by email. I hope that you read over my website, because I do explain it on Tips From the Tapes page. I explain and show exactly how to do this with my Survival Kit on video and either CD's or tapes, that can be ordered with the secure order page on my site.
Thank you again, Sy
Hi,
Maybe you can give me some advice, I am 45 years old, and for medical reasons have never driven. Three years ago my doctor gave me the permission to drive. I was excited, took the written test and got my restricted license. However, I have only been behind the wheel 4 times. School parking lots are the only options I have to practice. The last time I went out, I refused to drive because there was another car parked in the lot & I was terrified I would hit it. I am so afraid I will cause an accident in this 1 ton weapon that I haven't attempted driving since. (it's been 3 months)
I realize it is in my head, please suggest which C/Ds would benefit me. I look forward to your response.
Thank you, Susan

Thank you for writing. THERE IS HELP! Sy
Dear Sy,
Thanks for sending the Survival Kit, I've just finished watching the video and listening to Tape I and feel better already! I was nodding my head all the way through - especially the bits at the start about the personality traits etc ... I'm not driving today but I have to drive tomorrow and I will
try the breathing, white light and so on from then onwards. Could you subscribe me onto the Drivers Support Group now
thanks, Karin, England
Dear Sy,
I have used your survival kit to help me work through my intense fear of driving.Thefirst and foremost thing that helped me was theknowledge that other people had similiar phobias andthat I wasn't crazy. By using your tapes I havecome to realize the root of my fear and how to successfully work through them. In the past month I have took driving lessons, got my drivers licsense, and have bought my first car. I would like to extend my complete thankfulness for your program, without it I don't think I would have never known the freedom of driving and the self confidence I have gained from it.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you so much !
Hi Sy:
I've been using your tapes and Survival Kit for about three weeks. My daily driving has gotten much more relaxed and driving with my husband has become more enjoyable, too. Work stress is also being reduced. I am still having a little trouble with the Washington DC beltway, though and get a lot of tension in my neck from it. I can't seem to stay in the now when I am on the beltway.
Do you have any suggestions that may help me
Thanks, Eileen, Wash. D.C.
Dear Eileen,
Thank you for your wonderful comments. I think that you're doing wonderful in such a short time. You have to remind yourself to be patient. We forget how long it took us to get the way we are and how fast we want everything to be cured now!
I will be happy to give you some suggestions to your question. This information is available on my site under "Making your own Survival Kit" page. Are you ALWAYS doing the before and after driving exercises that I sent you the directions for This should not make any difference where you drive, i.e.,. the beltway or local. What creativity can you come up with to have objects, pictures and aromas with you to have in the car What reminds you for your "favorite place" where you go when you close your eyes and do the breathing Do you listen to the affirmations and repeat them while you're driving. Have you put the affirmation labels on cards for car, work or home
All my best, Sy
Hi,
I was thrilled to find your email on the net. I have had a fear of driving for many years. I am afraid to try new routes and have never driven on the expressway. I find every reason I can to not drive to places unknown. I can travel short distances and once I learn a route, I am fine. With four children, I need to overcome this fear and venture out more. I would like to hear about more of what you have available. Thank you. Darlene. RWF65@aol.com Aurora, IL
Dear Darlene,
Thank you for your message. I've helped many people over the years who have felt the way you do. I hope that you've read over my website and the Inspiring Stories section. Everthing is the unkown until you venture to travel it. You possibly worry too much about the "whatifitis" rather than stay more "in the now". This is what the Survival Kit will help you with greatly before, during and after you drive. You will also start being easier on yourself and be more spontaneous.
I always give free consultations with each Kit purchase and telephone sessions are available. You are also welcome to join the Drivers Support Group if you like.
I hope that this helps you and that I can of further help. Sy
